Phonetics Focus

Hello, everyone! Recently I've come across a nice resource, which offers various fun activities designed to help you improve your pronunciation and knowledge of phonetics. Here is the link: Phonetics Focus
There is quite a number of games and activities. To begin with, take the entry test (Entry/Exit Tests) to see what your knowledge of phonetics is now. After using Phonetics Focus, take the exit test to chech how your knowledge has improved. To start learning, try the Phonemic Chart. Click on the phonemic symbols to hear how they sound and to see words that use the sound. After that you can do the Phonemic Chart Quiz to see whether you can recognize sounds when you hear them and find correct phonemic symbols for sounds. Doing the Phonemic Chart Puzzle you can test your jigsaw puzzle skills and learn the phonemic chart at the same time. I would especially recommend doing such tasks as Which Phoneme?, Phonemic Link, Phonemic Maze and Odd Phoneme Out. So give it a try and let me know how you liked it!

Hello!

My congratulations on having become first year students of the Department of Foreign Languages of Tavrida National University.

Welcome to this blog, which is supposed to help you in the difficult task of mastering the English language. Via the blog we will be able to keep in touch in the period between sessions and to practise English in real-life communication. I will publish some links to Internet resources which you will find useful, I hope. Moreover, you can publish the results of your work here, for instance, essays, dialogues, etc. If you face some difficulties while getting ready for the session, don't hesitate to ask your questions here.
